Eco4 Explained
What Is The ECO4 Scheme?
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) is a government initiative in Great Britain aimed at addressing fuel poverty and lowering carbon emissions. It mandates energy companies to implement energy efficiency measures in domestic properties.
ECO4 concentrates on enhancing energy efficiency in homes facing fuel poverty, exclusively targeting properties in bands D-G. The scheme also strives for a comprehensive upgrade by adopting a multi-measure whole-house retrofit strategy. Additionally, a mandatory quota of privately owned homes in energy efficiency bands E, F, and G must undergo improvements during ECO4, guaranteeing that the least efficient residences receive necessary enhancements.
